KBS Symphony Orchestra, 829th Subscription Concert (제829회 KBS교항앙답 정기연주회)

The concert weekend has a sports twin. On Aug 30 the Jamsil Sports Complex fills from both sides: the stadium grounds host the weekend’s big pop shows while, right next door, Doosan Bears vs. Kiwoom Heroes plays out a three-game KBO home series at Jamsil Baseball Stadium (Aug 28, 29 and 30).

Overnight Templestay: Jingwansa & Geumsunsa (진관사·금선사 템플스테이)

Two of Seoul’s most accessible overnight temple stays, both run in English and both bookable year-round through templestay.com. Jingwansa in Eunpyeong-gu (adults 70,000 won) is the classic introduction — evening meal, bell-tolling, tea, and the 108 prostrations. Geumsunsa, tucked below Bukhansan in Jongno-gu (adults 60,000 won), adds an 08:00 mountain hike the next morning and a tea talk with a monk, making it the better pick if you want the temple and the trail in one weekend.

Bukchon Traditional Culture Center & Temple Food Experience (북촌문화센터·한국사찰음식문화체험관)

In the heart of the Bukchon hanok village, the Bukchon Traditional Culture Center (Gyedong-gil 37, Jongno-gu) is a free, drop-in hanok with exhibits on the house’s architecture and history plus hands-on tea, craft and gugak sessions — open Tue–Fri 09:00–18:00 and weekends 09:00–17:00, but closed Mondays, so don’t plan a Monday visit. For something you cook yourself, the Korean Temple Food Culture Experience Center runs a foreigners-only Saturday session (10:30–12:00) — a rare temple-cuisine class built for non-Korean speakers; fees aren’t posted online, so confirm by phone or the official site when you reserve.

K-Heritage Art Exhibition at Changdeokgung Nakseonjae (창덕궁 낙선재 K-헤리티지 아트전, 이음의 선)

A short, timely show inside Changdeokgung’s Nakseonjae quarters, Sep 1–6, 09:00–17:30 (last palace entry 17:00). The exhibition itself is free — you pay only the standard Changdeokgung admission — which makes it an easy add-on to a palace visit during the first days of September, and a quieter, more intimate corner of the palace than the main halls.
